Citrus Latifolia/Persian Lime 10"

Persian lime trees, also known as Bearss lime and Tahiti lime, are small to medium-sized evergreen trees with glossy, deep green leaves and fragrant white flowers. Their round to oval fruit, a hybrid of a Key lime and a lemon, has a smooth, thin rind and juicy, pale green flesh, typically seedless or nearly seedless. Persian lime trees are prized for their flavorful fruit, which is used in cooking, baking, beverages, and garnishes.

Lighting: Place in a south-facing window to receive 6-8 hours of bright sunlight daily. Not enough light will cause the plant to stretch and drop leaves and fruit. Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth on all sides, as it tends to grow towards the light source.

Watering: Water when the top 3cm of soil dries out. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Stick your finger into the soil to check its moisture level, or use our moisture meter to remove the guesswork.

Potting Mix: Use a well-draining potting mix like our Fafard potting soil when repotting

Temperature: Keep the environment consistently warm, within the range of 18-30°C and avoid drafts from windows/vents

Humidity: Keep humidity levels moderate to high, using a humidifier or placing the plant on a tray filled with water and pebbles to help supplement humidity.

Fertilization: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the spring and summer growing season. Reduce to every 8 weeks in fall and winter.

All citrus trees are generally toxic to both cats and dogs.
